How an exchange benefits employability
How can the global skills developed during international mobility impact on employability? This cooperation project between Switzerland and Tunisia provides the answer.
This cooperation project between Tunisia and Switzerland looked at the links between global competencies, also known as "soft skills", international mobility and employability. In an ever-changing world, employers' expectations in terms of skills are constantly evolving. Today, "the more individuals develop these global skills in addition to their business skills, the easier they will find it to navigate the world of work" (Swiss Federal Council, 2019; World Economic Forum, 2020). Through this project, it has been possible not only to study employers' needs more closely, but also to define global skills and integrate them into the thinking of institutions. The materials created can be used by other institutions interested in incorporating global skills into their curricula.
Dr. Lamia Ben Hamida, associate professor at the Haute école de gestion Arc and project leader, tells us about this cooperation, the challenges as well as the learning associated with this experience.
