Application process
Movetia promotes exchanges and mobilities on behalf of the Confederation and the Canton and awards funding for a wide range of projects. Here you can find information about our funding practice and the application process.
Allocation of funding
Movetia does not award funding to private individuals. Only institutions and organisations based in Switzerland can apply for funding, which they then pass on to the participants. The respective institution or organisation submits a funding application to us. We evaluate the project applications and allocate the funding according to specific award criteria. If the decision is positive, we pay out the funds to the institution or organisation in one or more stages. They are responsible for administering the corresponding amounts and paying them out to the participants.
Depending on the funding opportunity, there are specific features that you will find in the respective offer. However, the application process generally involves the following steps:
- You look for a project partner and plan the project together. You estimate how many participants will be involved in the exchange project. The funding amount is calculated based on the number of participants, duration and location.
You apply to us for funding. We provide digital application forms for this purpose. You will find the link in the respective Funding opportunities. Projects that take place at national level can be submitted throughout the year. International projects, on the other hand, have one to three "application deadlines" depending on the educational level. Please take these application deadlines into account in your planning.
Once a project has been submitted to Movetia, we evaluate it according to the Funding criteria. Are the project objectives in line with the educational objectives? Is the chosen project partner relevant to the project? If the project has gaps in certain areas, we will contact you.
If we are able to approve your project, you will receive the first instalment of funding. After a certain period, you submit an interim report. We will use this to calculate the remaining funding amounts. You are responsible for administering the grants and forwarding them to the participants. At the end of the project, you submit a final report and receive any remaining funds.
