Fresh ideas for promoting mobility
Looking for inspiration to boost international mobility in your institution? We present some of the projects developed by the higher education institutions to encourage their students and staff to get started.
A new year, a new beginning
Thanks to the measure “A new beginning for mobility”, which was offered to all institutions of the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP) in August of last year, several universities and higher education institutions were able to develop projects to promote mobility for which they would not have had the necessary funds internally. The first ideas were put into practice this spring!
A blog and videos from the Grisons
The University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR) encourages its students on exchange abroad, as well as those staying in Chur, to write short posts for an exchange blog. The result is inspiring, especially thanks to the beautiful photographs submitted by the students to illustrate their posts. The FHGR also had two video clips produced by one of its multimedia production students to promote the institution, and more broadly the Grisons, as a mobility destination. The first of these clips features snow-capped mountains as a backdrop to an interview with two exchange students currently living in Chur. The second video, scheduled for June, will be set in a more summery setting.
A podcast to launch the International Days in Lucerne
On the shores of Lake Lucerne, the University of Lucerne and the Lucerne University of Teacher Education have joined forces to offer a mobility week, the “International Days”. The programme includes a raffle with SBB tickets, poster sessions on possible destinations and the costs of a mobility stay, a social networking campaign and the launch of a podcast on international mobility. The first episode of the podcast (available in Swiss German only) is hosted by three students from Lucerne who went on exchange to Dublin, Paris and Seoul. They share their experiences and anecdotes about the little and big surprises of discovering another campus and another culture.
There is no shortage of ideas! We will be happy to share them with you over the course of the year, as other promotional projects come to fruition.
