Workshop International Joint Degrees in Higher Education

Joint degrees, awarded by multiple institutions across different countries, are a hot topic within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). European policies, such as the EU’s European Strategy for Universities, and the EU’s Erasmus+ programme promote strategic cross-border collaboration to facilitate the development of joint degrees. “European Universities”, in particular, are piloting new approaches to deal with related regulatory, organisational and cultural challenges.

This workshop is co-organised by Movetia and the University of Zurich (UZH).

This workshop is aimed at Swiss higher education staff involved in joint degrees, including project managers, curriculum developers, and legal advisors.

The afternoon session will focus on peer exchange, and active participation is strong

Morning session (online participation possible, to be confirmed)

• Presentation on International Joint Degrees (Annika Martin, UZH)
• Presentation on the European Degree Label, including experiences with regard to legal obstacles in Switzerland (Annika Martin, UZH)
• Deep Dive: Learnings from two Joint Bachelor Degrees implemented within the European University Una Europa, focusing on organisational and practical aspects (Basil Bornemann and Susanne Kempe-Weber, UZH)
