Am 11. Juni 2025 fand im Farelhaus Biel die Jahresveranstaltung Jugend von Movetia statt. Rund sechzig Fachpersonen der Jugendarbeit aus der ganzen Schweiz trafen sich zum Austausch zu den Methoden, Herausforderungen und Erfolgsfaktoren in der internationalen Jugendarbeit. 

Feedback from students after a stay abroad is often positive. Nevertheless, it is difficult to evaluate the concrete impact of this mobility on the development of intercultural competences. A new tool from the NGO Backpack2school now makes it possible to measure these effects.

Aufenthalte in anderen Kulturkreisen bieten zahlreiche Lernsituationen. Denn im unbekannten Umfeld gilt es sich zurechtzufinden. Interkulturelles Lernen ist jedoch kein Selbstläufer. Darum bieten wir Projektträger:innen in der Berufsbildung Workshops zur Förderung interkultureller Handlungskompetenzen an.

Ronny Gröner ist Deutschlehrer im Kanton Freiburg und an seiner Schule für den Sprachaustausch zuständig. Er ist sowohl von der Interkulturalität als auch vom Austausch überzeugt und spricht hier über seine Meinung zu diesem Thema.

There should be a greater focus on Interculturality in education and in our programmes. For this reason, we have been a member of the Society for Intercultural Education Training and Research SIETAR since January. The organisation is committed to strengthening interculturality.

Girls show higher global competence than boys. This is the conclusion reached by the OECD after analysing PISA data. There are major gender-specific differences, for example in terms of respect for people from other cultures or attitudes towards immigrants.
