Movetia launches funding programmes for international cooperation
Collaborations strengthen the international networking of Swiss educational institutions and ensure the quality of our education system. Movetia launches the 2024 funding programmes for cooperation with international partner institutions and organizations from the global education area.
Organising international mobilities with art institutions in politically fragile countries is challenging - but possible. This is demonstrated by an international cooperation project that the ZHdK has realised in collaboration with educational institutions in Abkhazia and Cuba.
European collaborations have a strong influence on the reputation of Swiss universities

Swiss higher education institutions in the Erasmus+ “European universities”
Swiss higher education institutions were admitted to participate in Erasmus+ "European Higher Education" projects for the first time in 2022. In total, 12 Swiss higher education institutions now participate in Erasmus+ funded alliances. This corresponds to more than half of the universities and universities of applied sciences in Switzerland. All Swiss higher education institutions involved in these projects were also successful with their applications for Swiss funding.
Schweizer Hochschulen gestalten ihre Zukunft europäisch

Dank afrikanisch-schweizerischer Zusammenarbeit entsteht eine Ausbildung für landwirtschaftliches Unternehmertum
Mehrere landwirtschaftliche Ausbildungszentren in der Schweiz, Kamerun und der Elfenbeinküste bündeln ihr Fachwissen, um einen Kurs über landwirtschaftliche Unternehmerkompetenzen zu entwickeln. In der Pilotdurchführung wird der Inhalt des Kurses an Studierende aus der Elfenbeinküste, Kamerun und der Schweiz vermittelt. Auf der Grundlage dieser Erfahrungen wird das Kursmodul in seine endgültige Form gebracht und kann von Ausbildungsinstitutionen in der Schweiz und im Ausland verwendet oder sogar in die Ausbildungspläne integriert werden.
4 Swiss universities participate in European alliances

A joint effort to shape the school spaces of tomorrow
The design of educational spaces and school buildings is a real challenge for the schools of tomorrow. In this context, the University of Teacher Education at the University of Applied Sciences in Northwestern Switzerland was able to develop the PULS+ project thanks to a cooperation with three European countries.
The European Higher Education Area is being reinforced: 24 new alliances have been announced as part of the European Universities Initiative. In total, there are now 41 European universities, composed of 280 institutions from Erasmus+ countries. Switzerland is not represented.
International cooperation strengthens occupational therapy training
As part of a strategic partnership between six universities, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW participates in an innovative project for prospective occupational therapists in Switzerland and Europe. The aim is to improve the quality of training.

A cooperation project between the University of Lausanne and the University of Antananarivo enabled students in the UNIL's Master's degree programme in geography to put what they had learned into practice and gain field experience.
Success of Movetia's international pilot programme – call for projects 2020 is open
International cooperation and mobility projects are a huge success with Swiss training schools and institutions, whether they are organised in collaboration with the US, China, Brazil, India or Australia or even Vietnam, Egypt or Togo. The programme aims to expand the geographic scope of cooperation activities beyond Europe, while seeking exchange and mobility to promote educational and scientific innovation. 17 universities from the EU selected for alliances
The European Commission has announced which European universities will be part of the first «European Universities» alliances. This is an important step in the development of the European Education Area. Swiss universities cannot participate in Erasmus+ due to their non-association.
