InnoVET project nominated for OST Award
The first Swiss Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) “InnoVET” has been nominated for an award by the OST University of Applied Sciences. The project, funded by Movetia and SERI, supports vocational schools in their internationalisation efforts and focuses on innovative tools and methods.

Under the leadership of Daniel Kehl (GBS St. Gallen), the project was approved in 2021 as a consortium with Ben Hütter (IDM Thun), Daniel Gobeli (WST Thun), Prof. Dr. Stefan Kammhuber (UAS Ost) and Yvonne Jänchen (Movetia) and international partners, and was implemented over a project period of three years.
Innovation through internationalisation
The «InnoVET – Innovation through Internationalisation» project strengthens innovation promotion in vocational education and training through internationalisation. It demonstrates how innovation competence and the internationalisation of vocational education and training institutions are interlinked at the structural, cultural and strategic levels. In collaboration with European partners from vocational schools, universities, companies, and associations, practical tools, methods, and continuing education programs were developed that specifically promote both innovation and internationalisation in vocational education and training.
Support for vocational schools
Practical tools have been developed in six international workshops to provide targeted support to institutions:
- A questionnaire for analysing the dimensions of internationalisation
- A «spider» tool for analysing the current situation and digitally tracking developments
- A strategy tool for easily developing internationalisation strategies
- A marketplace for networking institutions in Switzerland and Europe
- A set of arguments on the importance of mobility
- The «Lift» tool for identifying success factors and obstacles
«Best Project Award»
The OST Awards recognize teaching staff, researchers, and VET students/apprentices in six categories for outstanding achievements. InnoVET was nominated in the “Best Project Award” category. This nomination underscores the innovative strength of the project and its contribution to the internationalisation of vocational education and training.
