The issue of climate change is now unavoidable, and measures are being taken in all divisions to mitigate the negative impact on the environment. International mobility is also affected. 

Active Swiss higher education institutions and colleges of higher education

In the last few years, so-called “green” initiatives for more responsible mobility have flourished at Swiss universities, both on the part of the students and the rectorate. Today, other strategies have been added to the good practices.

  • EPFL: guidelines for responsible business and student travel and creation of a Travel Committee. Tips and tricks for travelling by train and 60% discount on international train tickets for SEMP students.
  • Università della Svizzera italiana: page dedicated to students on mobility with information and tips for sustainable mobility.
  • HEP Vaud: additional funding of CHF 100 for students travelling sustainably.
  • Université de Fribourg: guidelines for business travel aimed at reducing the number of air journeys and encouraging sustainable travel.
