In detail
"European Policy Experimentations Erasmus+ " are a challenging project format from Erasmus+. They test in several European countries, how well certain policy ideas work, what impact they have and whether they can be implemented on a large scale. Examples include micro-certificates, ethical design of AI for education, and European qualification labels for higher education and vocational education and training.
These projects combine strategic planning, sound methodologies and strong European cooperation. The projects often involve five or more educational institutions, and it is expected that public authorities or umbrella organisations will also be involved. Swiss institutions can participate as additional partners. The requirements of the Erasmus+ programme apply. The project must always be led by an institution in an Erasmus+ country.
Associated participation in an Erasmus+ project is partially funded by the Swiss Programme for Erasmus+. When responding to an EU Call for projects, please first check on this website whether Swiss co-funding is available and whether there is a Swiss application deadline."European Policy Experimentations Erasmus+" are part of Key Action 3 Policy Support. The current Erasmus+ Call for projects "European Policy Experimentations Erasmus+" dated 22 December 2025 covers 10 topics. Another topic (Erasmus+ scholarships, probably focusing on higher education/higher vocational education and STEM) has been announced for a later date.

Q & A
Is it possible for an application for a funding amount as part of an associated participation in an Erasmus+ project to be rejected by Movetia?
Yes, this is possible in principle. There are three main reasons:
If an Erasmus+ project is rejected at EU level, the Swiss application cannot be approved either.
If the Added value / additional benefit of Swiss participation for Switzerland is not convincingly demonstrated, the project can also be rejected.
In principle, we expect to see increased competition for Swiss funding for international educational cooperation programmes such as those supported by Movetia in the coming years. We may have to turn down projects due to limited funding.
What does Movetia understand by an "institution" / "organisation"?
By "institution" or "organisation" we mean an entity that is involved in educational activities. This includes schools, universities, vocational training centres, associations, foundations or other structures. These institutions must have a formal framework for their activities and be legally recognised in Switzerland. Collaborators working for an institution can start a project with the approval of their management.
What are possible partner institutions?
Possible partner institutions for international cooperation include different types of educational and vocational training institutions such as schools, universities, vocational training centres, public authorities, associations and companies active in the field of education. These partners should come from different countries and enable genuine transnational cooperation to develop innovative educational projects, exchange practices or solve common educational challenges.
